Abstract
Studies the necessary conditions for optimal trajectories of hybrid optimization problems. By “hybrid”, we mean processes involving continuous-time and discrete-time evolutions. We start by giving a precise definition of a hybrid system. We state a hybrid maximum principle and give examples of the use of this principle. Then we introduce a different class of hybrid systems and show how it is possible to study optimal hybrid trajectories by using the same maximum principle and by properly defining an associated hybrid system of the first type
