Abstract :
A hybrid propagation model for macrocells at 1800 MHz is presented. In this model several prediction methods are combined in a modular system. The selection process of the single modules is completely unsupervised. Input data are mainly terrain height and land usage information organized as raster data (resolution 50 m×50 m). Additionally street vector data is used in order to take into account the effects of street orientation and detect line-of-sight situations between base and mobile antennas within street canyons. The approach is verified by numerous measurements within the DCS 1800 network of E-Plus
