Abstract :
The field configurations for an electromagnetically coupled microstrip patch antenna are studied. The spacing between the feed line and the patch is varied, and its effect on the field configurations is observed. Two types of coupling mechanisms are observed depending on the spacing. The results are compared with the reported results for an aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna.
