Abstract :
The current trend for radar array antennas requires increased integration, as well as large bandwidth, for multifunction systems, and frequency/angular selectivity properties for structural integration on military platforms, like ships and aircrafts, with low radar cross section (RCS). We have presented a review of the potentialities offered by the multi-mode equivalent approach for the design of complex multilayer phased arrays. Compact waveguide radiators, aperture/patch based FSS, radomes and multilayer phased arrays have been designed using this technique and some results have been reported.
