Abstract
The cavity backed inverted microstrip patch (IMP) is of significant importance for integrated antenna design. The effect of the cavity enclosure in changing its resonances is examined theoretically and experimentally. A simple CAD model is proposed to calculate accurate resonant frequencies of the cavity-backed IMCPs and is also verified with different experimental results.
