Abstract :
Chinese retail companies are facing fierce competition because of entry of WTO. Information technologies can reinforce the competitive ability for retail companies. This study tries to find out state of IT adoption and factors that affect IT adoption in Chinese retail companies. All the factors that greatly influence the IT adoption in retail companies were listed. A big Chinese retail company´s IT adoption was studied as a case. Some special factors are given out that may be helpful for IT adoption of Chinese retail companies.
