Abstract
The luminometer performs bioluminescence assays by recording the light produced by a biochemical reaction. The nature of the reactions, the optical configuration of the instrument, and the sensor system are discussed. The choice of a photomultiplier tube (PMT) as a detector and the design of the PMT electronics are also discussed. Some measurement results from a breadboard system are presented
