Abstract
This paper presents a new method for implementing the shifting of the PN code to calculate the correlation function which is used to measure the target range in the spread spectrum automotive radar. The new method results In higher resolution without increasing the chip rate of the PN code (which necessitate increasing the bandwidth). This new method has the facility of variable resolution without increasing the complexity of the system.
