Abstract :
A novel method for high-power and high-frequency switching using the combined circuit of a switched snubber and a saturable inductor commutation is presented. Zero-voltage switching is realized and switching surges due to the parasitic inductance and the parasitic capacitance are decisively suppressed without increasing the conduction loss and switch stress. Using the technique of zero-voltage switching, a 1 kW DC-to-DC converter is obtained with 97% efficiency at the switching frequency of 300 kHz
