Abstract :
The design principles of a novel waveguide sector antenna consisting of 4 layers have been presented. With a sophisticated arrangement to realise the azimuth sector pattern on one hand and -free elevation pattern on the other, typical drawbacks of such point-to-multipoint antennas especially at higher frequencies can be overcome. The measurement results of a first 90°-sector prototype antenna are very encouraging. Radiation pattern with very low cross-polar components and considerably low losses have shown that this new antenna concept is very powerful for modern point to multipoint radio transmission systems at higher frequency bands.
