Abstract :
The prerequisite of the ubiquitous healthcare infrastructure is a real-time communication system between the patients and the doctors. This paper shows a realistic implementation of a ubiquitous connectivity for the cardiac healthcare from the portable cardiac sensor at the patient-side to the EMR lab module at the doctor-side through the "u-RTC" engine. The cardiac sensor was developed as a patch-type supporting the Bluetooth to communicate with the wireless connection devices, such as PDA, and it communicates with the home server application, called "Coconut home center". If the cardiac signal from the cardiac sensor is abnormal or critical, then both notification and cardiac data are transferred to corresponding primary-doctor\´s EMR program by u-RTC and the community manager module in the "coconut" activates the care network to send a hospital-reservation request or the emergency message. This system would be very useful for the patients with a cardiac illness and for the doctors, especially in the emergency environment.
