Abstract
This article discusses the current situation of the development of university public computer laboratories in China, based on which it analyses some problems that exist in hardware life span, usage efficiency, maintenance and management in the laboratory development. It recommends utilization of virtualization technology under a cloud computation environment, and a development strategy which can improve the computer usage efficiency. Based on some actual examples, it illustrates the advantages of the cloud computation scheme in terms of the laboratory development cost, usage efficiency, energy consumption, management and maintenance.
