Abstract
Load management has grown in acceptance over the past several decades as a reliable means to provide a demand-side resource of dispatchable capacity. This paper first reviews the significant break-throughs of load management technology, in particular load control switches, then sets the stage for a discussion of the cutting edge applications and their place in the upcoming information revolution
