Abstract :
Even though anthropometric data for the general population has been published, there are certain applications in biomechanics where individual data is more useful. In kinematic studies of human motion, the mass center of body segments must be known. In this study, magnetic resonance imaging and densitometry have been used to determine the mass center of a body segment for a specific individual. Results are presented graphically, and a variation of approximately 5% is seen between the individual mass center and that published for the general population
