Abstract :
This paper analyses the characteristic of chaotic sea background and proposes a new approach of detecting sea targets. Based on the principle of phase space reconstruction and the largest Lyapunov exponent calculating, we develops a new algorithm which can estimate the largest Lyapunov exponent of chaotic two dimensional image signals. Experimental results show that the proposed method can detect ship targets form complicated sea background effectively. It is proved that the image largest Lyapunov exponent is an efficient characteristic of sea target.
