Abstract :
Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have a larger battery pack which can be charged from an AC outlet. This paper deals with an integrated module which can power the electric propulsion machine (defined as Mode-1 further in this paper), can charge the battery pack during the process of regeneration (defined as Mode-2), can charge the battery pack from AC outlet (defined as Mode-3) and can be used as single phase inverter in standalone mode (defined as Mode-4) and also in grid connected mode to inject power to the grid (defined as Mode-5). This integrated module has reduced the number of components used to operate in different modes.
