Abstract
The application of computer-based training (CBT) technology to job aids provides an effective alternative to traditional factory training for software-intensive systems. These “computer-based job aids” enhance training effectiveness by placing training in the workplace and increase cost effectiveness by significantly reducing the total cost of training. This paper addresses computer-based job aid: characteristics; advantages; disadvantages; training effectiveness; cost effectiveness; and user receptivity
