Abstract
This study discusses the influence of game-based instruction combined with interactive whiteboards on learning effectiveness. Using Taguchi methods, we select the best teaching method combination to provide a reference for teachers in the future. The participants of this study were 25 third grade students, the subject taught during the experiment was Science and Technology. Interactive whiteboards (IWBs) were integrated into the teaching platform, and the experimental game-based instruction was applied for 12 weeks (36 sessions). The results indicate that IWBs are effective teaching aids when combined with game-based instruction, generating positive learning effects. During the experiment, we found that the more thoroughly teachers apply each function of IWBs, the more student´s learning and learning retention improves.
