Abstract :
The traffic load in a cellular network is typically unbalanced, changing both in the time domain and the spatial domain due to user mobility and activities. In this letter, a traffic-aware dynamic frequency band allocation scheme for OFDMA system is proposed. It is shown that the proposed scheme improves the network throughput and the spectral efficiency without increasing the cost of signaling interaction by dynamically allocating sub-bands in multi-cell network according to the traffic load fluctuations.
