Abstract :
A benchmark problem of a cylindrical insulator with a wet and dry band is formulated. An analytic solution was obtained and numerically evaluated, and compared with the solution obtained from: (1) a finite-differencing technique; and (2) a commercially available finite-element software. The agreement between the solutions obtained from the three methods was found to be within 10 to 20%
