Abstract :
This paper is devoted to model the propagation of ultra-short pulse in optical fiber. This modeling is achieved by using finite difference time domain of bodies of revolution BOR-FDTD technique. In the proposed modeling, the nonlinear effects and the dispersion are taken into account. These nonlinear effects include the self phase modulation (SPM) and the Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS). The FDTD treatment of dispersion and nonlinearity is accomplished by using direct integration method. In addition, the Lorentzian model is employed to represent the optical fiber dielectric properties. This analysis represents a more realistic case for optical fiber compared with the previously published analysis based on one dimension approximation.
