Abstract
This analysis has shown that production mouldings have an inherent high reliability under service conditions. Due to the fact that the majority of the system mouldings are operated well below 10kV, and that a ´worse-case´ approach is adopted for the analysis, reliability should in actuality be substantially greater. It has been shown quantitatively that routine monitoring of data from the test procedure outlined in this paper will rapidly identify any change in moulding quality, and eliminate any mouldings that could potentially place a system at risk. Time dependence in the DC breakdown of joint mouldings has been shown to be dominated by processes in the bulk material
