Abstract
Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) are becoming the predominate interface between users and computer software. The GUI vendors have put much effort into the development of these interfaces and the tools to physically build the interfaces quickly and easily. But little has been accomplished in knowing how to analyze user need, procedures, and tasks and turn those needs into effective products by way of the GUI interface. Suggestions are made for dealing with this problem until better processes and tools are available
