Abstract :
Quantum communication is nowadays becoming a practically viable form of communications that: is attracting concerns due to its high information capacity and inherent security against passive attacks. Nevertheless, quantum communication still faces a multitude of challenges concerning the net communication rate. In this paper, we propose a session layer protocol called the secure session relay protocol (SSRP) for establishing secure sessions across a quantum communication channel. We show that this protocol increases the average communication capacity of the channel, and provides passive and active attack detection capabilities based on a proposed concept which we called quantum signature.
