Abstract
The experimental results of investigations on the "COVCHEG" accelerator are presented. Possible working regimes of the accelerator are described. Microwave generators of vircator type with grid and plasma anodes, multibeam relativistic TWT are presented. The "COVCHEG" facility is a multifunctional system intended to research and develop a powerful microwave generator excited with electron beams. "COVCHEG" consists of capacitor storage on the basis of four Marx generators GIN-5001 with full energy up to 80 kJ at a voltage of 350 kV, inductive storage (coaxial transmitting line in direct feeding regime of diode) with inductance up to 1 /spl mu/H, the plasma open switch section, magnetically insulated diode, anode unit, and the microwave generator.
