Abstract
In this article, we present a planar meander line antenna design consisting of three branch strips to provide triple-band operation for the GSM (890-960 MHz), DCS/PCS (1710-1880/1850-1990 MHz) and WLAN (2400-2484 MHz) applications. To achieve a low profile, the meander line structure is arranged in the horizontal direction. Therefore, in this study, the total antenna height from the handset ground plane is only 13 mm or about 0.04 wavelength for the 900 MHz band. Details of the proposed planar meander line antenna design are described in this paper, and experimental results of the proposed antenna are presented and discussed.
