  • Abstract
The Energy Policy Act of 1992 is a comprehensive energy bill involving a wide range of energy related issues. It is a combination of numerous energy legislative proposals. A testing and labeling program is required for luminaires. The impact of this legislation on lamps and lighting is summarized by the author. The author discusses lamp efficiency labeling, and lamp efficiency standards for R/PAR incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, and HID lamps. The author then discusses the steps taken by lamp manufacturers to help industry and the consumer cope with the regulations
