The situation and trend of development of 3D virtual exhibition

With the development of exhibition industry and internet, 3D virtual exhibition was born which combines the advantages of both of them. There are already some 3D virtual exhibitions held, but most as the accessories of physical exhibitions. This paper discussed the situation and trend of development of 3D virtual exhibition from different points of view, technology, economical efficiency, social and environmental effects, and policy. At present, not all kinds of exhibitions can be held as 3D virtual exhibitions; but in the near future, the 3D virtual exhibition can achieve all the function of physical exhibition, and develop rapidly, to be an important part of the exhibition industry.
