Abstract :
In this paper, straight wires acting as antennas or scatterers are analyzed using the proposed "Equivalent TEM Mode Theory", where simple closed form expressions follow by solving simple transmission line equations. The current distribution and radiated or scattered far field are obtained in terms of two basic modes: the "antenna mode" and the "scatterer mode". Results obtained using these expressions exhibit very good agreement with numerical results.
