Abstract :
An algorithm to locate sea-sky line in infrared image with sea-sky background is suggested in this paper. In this algorithm, the modified Canny method is combined with a median filter, its two thresholds are designed to be adaptive based on the properties of these infrared images. A criterion is set up to distinguish the sky-sea line from other objects in an image. The complete algorithm for locating the sky-sea line is given, it was tested in a simulating platform by C language combined with assemble language (C6201).
