Abstract
Traditionally, analyzing the load-bearing characteristics of complex structural components pays more attention to static factors ignoring dynamic factors. Static elements focus on the distribution of stress while dynamic element on the flowing tendency of various loads in different directions. Load path is a new expression of dynamic element and this paper take the engine´s cylinder head as study object to analyze the load-bearing characteristics of complex structural components using load path theory. In order to simplify the problem, slices of the first cylinder are researched and conclusions are drawn to prove the effectiveness of load path theory.
