Abstract
We proposed a new synthesis algorithm for dielectric lenses of arbitrary shape. This method has been applied successfully at 58.5 GHz to the design of a lens antenna fed by a microstrip 2/spl times/2 patch array and radiating an asymmetric Gaussian pattern. The next step of this work will consist in optimizing the lens profile after the synthesis procedure in order to elude GO assumptions.
