Abstract :
The authors have studied the dehydration reaction of cumyl alcohol which occurs as a result of heating XLPE cable to high temperatures. First, they investigated the relationship between the water produced as a result of the dehydration reaction and the number of microvoids. Second, they conducted heating experiments on XLPE samples in which different organic peroxides were used as cross-linking agents, and investigated dehydration reaction of decomposition products from several organic peroxides
