Abstract
In order to develop a test method for rapid evaluation of new cable materials in a uniform field condition and determine experimental conditions for accelerated aging, laboratory samples of extruded cup-shaped polyethylene crosslinked with one or two semiconductors were tested while exposed to a wet environment. The water-treeing propensity of different XLPE materials is discussed in this paper
