Abstract :
We explore a new way of light emission at 1530 nm. The light-emitting layer contains the mixture of Er2O3 nanoparticles and spin-on glass. It is deposited on silicon wafers. This layer is very thin, but exhibits optical gain. We can also improve the emission efficiency by introducing P2O5 and Yb2O3 nanoparticles.
