Abstract :
A generalized framework for designing oversampled paraunitary modulated perfect reconstruction filter banks using a lifting scheme is proposed. This framework takes known lifting-based design methods for critically sampled paraunitary filter banks and applies them to the design of oversampled modulated filter banks. Experimental results show that prototype filters with good attenuation in the stopband can be designed for subband filters yielding linear phase in a cosine-modulation scheme by using only a small number of parameters in the optimization.
