Abstract :
We analyze the role of inelastic electron scattering by phonons on current and its fluctuations in a quantum dot (QD) between two leads nonperturbatively using a recently developed mapping of the many-body electron-phonon coupling problem onto a multichannel single-electron scattering problem. Using the Buttiker scattering theory of noise correlations in a two-terminal mesoscopic conductor, we derive explicit expressions for current and zero-frequency current-current fluctuations in terms of transmission and reflection amplitudes. The derived formulae are used to calculate the shot noise properties of quantum dot systems.
