Abstract :
Experimental results of tailoring the dielectric properties of meta-materials using thin metallic wires are presented in this paper. Measurements with metallic wires inside a polymer composite sample show that it could be possible to tune the dielectric properties. Thin metallic inclusions inside a dielectric material can change its electrical properties by varying its physical parameters such as periodicity, wire thickness and thus the effective electromagnetic properties can be controlled. Samples with negative electrical properties may find applications in the design of smart radar absorbers and electrically small antennas.
