Abstract
Concerns the development of a sewage treatment facility on the R. Potomac in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. The work began with a thorough inventory of all the equipment in the facility that would be subject to maintenance, at one time or another. The second stage was the establishment of maintenance procedures. These might include lubricating, renewing seals and packings, adjustments, sharpening cutting edges, renewing corrosion protection, replacing worn parts (belts, pins, etc.), and sometimes exercising seldom-used equipment. Concomitantly, a schedule for maintenance actions was also developed. The information was recorded on a maintenance procedure sheet. The record-keeping consists of six forms
