Abstract :
A 6th-order three-stage MASH (multi-stage noise shaping) wideband delta-sigma modulator (WDSM) is proposed for operation at low oversampling ratio of 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16. The proposed architecture features optimum noise transfer function, optimum parameter choices as well as multi-bit quantizers to achieve high dynamic range performance at oversampling ratio as low as 4. By varying some parameters in tandem with different oversampling ratio, this modulator is also suitable for multi-standard applications. Simulation results show that the proposed architecture has good tolerance against parameter mismatches and nonlinearities in the multi-bit DAC.
