Abstract :
American engineering index (EI), as the most comprehensive engineering information database of the world, has been attached much more importance than ever by scientific research personnel in recent years. The retrieval result has been taken as an important basis of foundation supporting, achievements declaring, conducting the Fund, results reporting, promotion evaluation, and the professional titles appraisal for researcher individuals etc. This paper has provided the statistics results of the EI index for published papers in Henan province in 2006-2008, including the total amounts, the distribution list of area and scientific research institute, colleges and universities cumulated published theses, analyzed the existing problems during the process of paper published. In the end, some atentions when writing are put forward, including the titles selection, format, contribution channels, etc.
