Abstract :
The Haar wavelet transform and the simplex forecasting method are applied to the data set of hepatitis A in the United States to give better predictions of its incidence. Two approaches are presented. The first approach is to filter the data with wavelet decomposition and reconstruction then to use the simplex method on the reconstructed data. The second approach is to apply the simplex method directly to a state space formed by the components of wavelet decomposition
