Abstract :
Visual word recognition begins with the preconscious encoding of semantic, orthographic, phonological, and graphic information. These data sources are then used for activating lexical entries (memory codes), and it appears that the integration of these diverse types of information into a unified percept occurs when a lexical entry is assigned to the display
