Abstract
Wind power is the fastest growing renewable energy source in the world. Though India has made notable progress in wind power development, the wind energy potential so far been reported for north-east (N-E) states of India is meager. An attempt is made in the paper to explore the possibility of utilizing wind power of the N-E state, Tripura, for hybrid power system development. Wind resource, wind speed variation with height, wind speed probability density function have been described in the paper in the perspective of the state.
