Abstract :
In this paper the mechanism of carrier false lock phenomenon of a design of TDRS TT&C transponder is analyzed in details. It is found that the carrier false lock is due to the excessive time delays in the filters and other electronic components in the long tracking loop. The stability of the AGC and the command lock out issues of the same transponder are also addressed. Suggestions on the fixes are also provided
