It is shown that a very simple neuronal model with piecewise linear nonlinearity can produce complicated pattern of oscillations with very long period. Using the so-called slow-fast decomposition analysis of singularly perturbed dynamical systems, the generation mechanism of the complicated slow oscillation is explored.
