Abstract :
Software architectures based on mobile agents are gaining popularity but are often restricted to specific environments. This limitation can be overcome by using such techniques as HTTP messaging. In nature, HTTP messaging makes agent-based services a seamless extension to the Web service, and needs to interact with the Web service, this brings a penalty on performance and development cost. This paper proposes a new approach to providing agent-based services called Mobile Agent System (MAS) applet, this approach extends mobile agent services to Web users, and enables direct agent-to-user interaction. We discuss two approaches to implement the MAS applet, and we provide an example of an application which takes advantage of it.
