Abstract
The author summarizes the experiences of software reuse gained in a software factory producing application software for industrial control systems. The software reuse has been a prime issue in this factory since the beginning of the 1970s. Knowledge, concepts, product descriptions, product transformations, software processes, and project organizations were typical objects for reuse. Specification algebra (category) and specification-morphism (functor) are thought to bring new issues to the future software reuse. It is argued that how to reuse categories, how to reuse functors between categories, and how to reuse process programming will become central issues in the coming generation of software factories
