Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to find out the performance of a polarization diversity technique with a directional antenna for the indoor environment. The performance can be evaluated on the basis of the correlation coefficient and cumulative distribution function. Experiments were conducted at IMT-2000´s frequency. A 3D ray-tracing model for indoor communications with antennas of arbitrary directivity and polarization is presented. The measurement and simulation results show that the polarization diversity with the directional dual polarized microstrip antenna is expected to be more efficiently used than conventional polarization and space diversity with the dipole antenna for indoor environments
