Abstract
To resolve coverage hole problems caused by indoor base-station (IBS) faults, we propose a new frame structure and a practical algorithm based on an optimization technique. Our main contributions can be described as follows: 1) a frame structure with healing subchannels for overcoming abnormal IBS faults and 2) an efficient suboptimal resource allocation algorithm with opportunistic IBS selection to reduce the complexity of the optimization problem. Through intensive simulations, we evaluate the performance of our proposed algorithm with respect to average cell capacity, user fairness, and outage probability and compare it with the performance of conventional algorithms.
